In-Character Information
Name: Dragonite
Series: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (OC)
Canon-Point: n/a
History: Dragonite here was born. Yes, shocking, I know. She was born into a certain place, though - the future of the world of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 - before Grovyle and The Hero saved it from being a Paralyzed Planet, a planet where time barely flows anymore, and where Primal Dialga is known by all. So, basically, Dragonite doesn't know how time works - because she's never experienced it before. However, she isn't even on the same floating piece of rock where Primal Dialga is. She's from down on the planet, closer to where the Foggy Forest was back in the times where time flowed.
Anyhow, she was born as a Dratini - and one of the first things she learned was not to trust any other Pokemon. She was nearly ripped to shreds by Sableye, and nearly destroyed by wild Gabite. It was only due to her small size and greater-then-average speed that she could escape - she'd been born with ExtremeSpeed as an Egg Move, after all.
After her first few... well, she wouldn't know it was months, but trying to describe her life without using them is hard so I'm just gonna use time okay... after her first few months, Dratini had learned that other Pokemon = bad. She survived on old Gummi from the past, until she evolved into a Dragonair, due to training. And as she evolved, she decided. It was time to hunt down Pokemon to eat, instead of old food that had been perserved in time. And so, she started attacking smaller Pokemon who came close to the still lake (because no time = no wind) she slept in and around. And as she battled like this? She evolved into a Dragonite, one who never stopped to think about not attacking those who came too close to her territory.
And... that's basically where she's up to in her life!
Personality: First of all, Dragonite was born a lonely-natured Dragonite. And that's rather fitting of her personality... she's never had a friend before, having grown fearful of all creatures she can't kill straight away. She's, quite literally, in the mindset that if she loses, she dies. She'd be good in a Nuzlocke, huh?
Anyhow, once you get past her fearful personality (which is basically when you defeat her/convince you that you're stronger then her), she's got a personality which fits her species. And what's that? Well, Dragonite are seen as gentle creatures, and this one is no different. This Dragonite is a kindhearted creature, who knows her own limits. She knows when she can't win a fight, and she knows when she can. And if she can? She won't give up on the good fight.
Even if you do get past her fears, though, it'll take a lot to get Dragonite to trust you. After all, she's never had a friend before, or anybody she can trust. She may even follow you around without trusting you, knowing she can move by herself at any time. Most of the time, she will want to try and stay away from huge crowds of people, however. Crowds are dangerous, like Monster Houses or something idk.
Also, Dragonite is a Dragonite, from a world without people. What does this mean? She's... a little bit stupid, when it comes to human matters - she's never seen humans before, after all. She's also a bit dumb when it comes to how time works - in fact, she's a little bit afraid of time working! Because, after all, time is controlled by the creature who wet nuts, from what she's heard. And so, she's terrified of time, because it means Dialga is still around.
Powers: Dragonite... well, her name says everything you need to know about her. She's a freaking Dragonite, Pokemon number 149. But let's have a look at her known attacks and skills, and what she'll lose.
Firstly, becoming human, she'll only keep her claws she wasn't human - those claws becoming human hands with sharp claws on the end, of course. She'll lose the ability to use attacks with them, too! Oh, bother, amirite?
Even as a human, though, Dragonite is a strong creature. She's a good walker/runner, and she's able to hold her own in a fistfight. Plus, y'know, she knows how to speak Pokemon. Being one and all - she knows more of Pokemon stuff then human stuff. And she'll keep her abilities (both the canon one and the Dream World one from the future), Inner Focus and Multiscale. Basically, it'll take a lot to injure her at first, but then it'll be easier. And she won't flinch, most of the time. Yeah.
Her old attacks were ExtremeSpeed, Aqua Tail, ThunderPunch, and Outrage, for future reference.
Starter Pokemon: Swablu.
Writing Samples
First-Person Sample: This...
[This video... isn't even a video, it seems like. It's audio - and soft audio, anyhow. Soft, scared audio. With a harsh growl, the voice continued.]
This is unacceptable.
[The growl went away, replaced with a full roar. Just who's talking, anyhow?]
Unacceptable!
[And that's when the footage appears - it seems that the holder - a young adult-looking woman - was holding the camera of the Xtransiever up to her, blocking it.]
I want to go home - now.
[...And quite suddenly, she looks behind herself. A Swablu was floating behind her, slightly terrified. It had a few wounds, too - claw-marks? Bite marks? Who knows, except for the woman. With a snort, the woman looked back to the camera, angry.]
If you're not going to answer my own questions, I'm gonna find a way back myself. Got it?
[And the video cuts out, the woman huffing. Technology.]
Third-Person Sample: What, oh what, had Dragonite gotten herself into today? Why, the art of fishing, of course. The simple art of fishing... one which Dragonite didn't have the patience for.
I suppose it wasn't really fishing, as you'd know it. In fact, it was more like 'dive in the water and nom the fish as they came', instead of your traditional sort of fishing. And there wasn't much nomming going on, either. For, you see, Dragonite still wasn't used to the fact the water moved as well as the prey. The winds pushed the water, and that assisted the fish to make their escape. The light which shone, while the so-called sun shone across the waves, almost blinded the former-Pokemon in how it never seemed to vanish. That is, until the moon appeared.
But as the moon appeared, the fish and other sea creatures vanished into the night. It was... frustrating, to say the very least. And on this day, as Dragonite continued her quest for food, she let out a roar of frustration. Perhaps she'd need to... the horror, go to those humans for food. Those strange creatures... just what were they?
Dragonite didn't know. And she didn't want to know, as she leaped back into the water, violently. This time, she'd get some food.
She would. Totally.
